Light up Lanterns

Light up your artwork with our free lantern kits

If you’re lost for inspiration for your piece for Home is Where the Art Is, or just looking for ways to light up your artwork in the evenings, why not make your own lantern with our free lantern making kits?

If you were lucky enough to attend one of our lantern workshops last year, with our supporters Global Grooves, you will have made one of these illuminating art works. If you missed out on last year’s workshop, now is your chance!

All those who request a kit can choose to be part of our arts trail, by displaying your lantern in a window or online with our digital art trail by sending us a photo.

Kits includespecial eco-lantern paper, multi-coloured lights and wire, to mount the lights.

All kits are free and will be posted 2nd class to your address. If you prefer to collect we can try to arrange this, however social distancing and government guidance will need to be followed and will be on a case by case basis.

How to get your free lantern kit

Email emma.prestwichartsfestival@gmail.com and include:

  • your name

  • address to send your pack to

  • numbers of packs you'd like

  • where you want to display your lantern.

If you're displaying your lantern in a window or outside a property, the street will be added to our arts trail map. Unfortunately this year, due to current government guidelines, we can't arrange alternative spaces to display lanterns and/or artwork. However you are welcome to organise this yourself with your own family, friends or local contacts.
