About the event
We're delighted to partner with Art in Whitefield to present the first of their new Springwater Sketchbook tours.
Springwater Sketchbook Walks is a series of 12 monthly guided walks through the wild and wonderful Springwater Park in Whitefield, that use drawing and walking to explore the woodland and provide a sense of a creative community spirit in the area. With the help and support of Prestwich Arts Festival and Bury Art Museum, the project aims to help join the dots of the art map between Prestwich and Bury by providing this free and inclusive arts offering for people in Whitefield.
Springwater Sketchbook Walks are led by local artist Neil Greenhalgh through the creative community network Art in Whitefield. The walks are free and open to all ages and levels of ability. The only requirements are a good pair of walking shoes and an open mind. The walks aim to create a fun, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere, and an opportunity to meet like-minded creative people living locally.
You’ll be encouraged to bring your own materials, however if you don’t have access to any, there will be some sketchbooks and pencils available courtesy of Cass Art, the UK’s leading art supplies retailer.
The first sketchbook walk is Sunday 26th September but is aleady sold out! But don't worry, the tours continue after that on the last Sunday of every month. Each walk is limited to 15 people, so early booking is recommended. You can book your place for the October event on Eventbrite for free now.
