Join us for an evening of poetry and spoken word hosted by John Darwin. Featuring three local poets: Culain Wood, Kieren King and Oliver James Lomax.
John Darwin
John Darwin is a poet from Manchester and the host of ‘Crooked Poets’, a monthly spoken word event at the Crooked Man, Prestwich since 2022. His most recent books includes solo collections ‘I meet myself returning’ and ‘Ultrasilence’, published by Flapjack Press in 2019 and 2022. He won the Best Spoken Word Show award at the Greater Manchester Fringe in 2021 with his show ‘Happy Hour'. John Darwin | Flapjack Press
Culain Wood
Culain is a spoken word poet from Salford. He lists Joe Strummer, David Attenborough and Eric Cantona as his inspirations, but he also writes for his daughters, so they will always know what he stood for, and who he stood up to.
