5 Minute Film Festival

After the success of the 48 hour film rush at our 2019 festival, we're returning (at a slightly slower pace!) for Prestwich Art Festival’s second short film competition. This year budding film makers are invited to create a 5 minute movie. Entries are open for any genre of film, so whether you're a budding Jordan Peele horror fan or a Greta Gerwig fan of literary dramas get your crew together and grab your clapperboard. Lights, camera, action!

Contact us now to register your entry. The deadline for final submissions is Friday 24th September.

Competition details:

  • The competition is open to individuals and teams of no more than 4 people

  • Minimum entry age is 11

  • The work must be original (though parody and pastiche are fine)

  • There’s no restriction as to genre etc, but we’d ask it be broadly suitable for a 12+ audience

  • We’d love the films to be made in / around Prestwich and to showcase our town insofar as is possible & fits in with the theme of the film.

  • Films will be accepted in all digital formats. If you don't have access to film kit we would welcome submissions shot via the Kinemaster App (available for free on both Android and iPhone devices).

We'll hold a special screening event on Sunday 26 September at The Heys School of the entries that you'll be invited along to.  Let’s make this town shine like the star it is!

In association with Prestwich Community Cinema.
